Melbourne’s world-class sports and entertainment venue, Marvel Stadium, has been recognised as the Best Outdoor Venue at the 2025 Access All Areas Awards.
The Awards celebrate standout achievements across the live events sectors, with the shortlist highlighting the individuals, teams and organisations that have pushed the boundary and delivered exceptional work over the past year.
Marvel Stadium has hosted a suite of major events in 2025 that has showcased its world-class capabilities.
Over 730,000 fans have attended major events and concerts outside of football at Marvel Stadium this year, including major attendances for American country artist Luke Combs, Metallica, Wrexham AFC Tour Down Under, Fridayz Live featuring Pitbull and Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga, with the crowd at Lady Gaga on Saturday 6 December registering in the top ten highest attendances all time at Marvel Stadium.
This marks the first time Marvel Stadium has taken out the Best Outdoor Venue award, following years of strong recognition both nationally and internationally.
In 2025 Marvel Stadium has hosted 19 Major Events including three Big Bash League matches, 43 AFL matches, eight international concerts and six major sporting and entertainment special events and to start the new year will host three Melbourne Renegades Big Bash matches and welcome four-time Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran in February.
Earlier this year, Marvel Stadium ranked as the highest Australian venue in Pollstar’s Top 50 Stadiums and joined an elite group of international venues in the Top 10 stadiums worldwide for ticket sales and gross revenue – alongside Mexico’s Estadio GNP Seguros, California’s SoFi Stadium and Japan’s Tokyo Dome.
2025 has been a big year for Marvel Stadium, celebrating its 25th anniversary. Over the past month, the venue welcomed over 170,000 fans through the gates for the highly anticipated reunion of UK duo Oasis and 61,000 for Metallica, in addition to Lady Gaga which delivered the highest attended event in 2025 at Marvel Stadium.
General Manager of Marvel Stadium, Scott Fitzgerald, who was recently named in the 2025 Touring Power Players List, said he was proud to be recognised and thanked everyone who has played a role in a massive 2025.
